Not veterinary advice
Nothing on this website is veterinary advice or a diagnosis, and no product is sold to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any illness or condition in an animal. A bed, stairs, ramp or harness can change how comfortable something is; it does not treat arthritis, joint disease, anxiety, pain or any other condition. If your pet limps, is stiff, drinks much more or less than usual, is anxious, or seems unwell, see your veterinarian. If your pet is panting heavily, drooling, unsteady, or may have swallowed something, treat it as an emergency and call a vet immediately.
Always supervise
Pets can chew, swallow, tangle, slip, and escape. Supervise your pet with every product here. No collar, harness, leash, bed or fastener is escape-proof or chew-proof, and we do not claim they are. Check straps, stitching, buckles, zips, foam and fabric before each use and stop using anything frayed, chewed, cracked or damaged. Keep small parts, stuffing and foam away from pets and children: if swallowed, call your veterinarian.
Harnesses and leashes
- Choose the size from your pet’s measurements and the size chart. A harness that is too loose can be backed out of; too tight can restrict breathing or movement. You should be able to fit about two fingers under each strap.
- Take harnesses, leads and collars off when your pet is unsupervised, in a crate or playing with other animals, to avoid strangulation and entanglement.
- Do not lift a pet off the ground by a harness or use a lead to restrain a pet in a vehicle.
- Training is up to you. A harness may change how a pet pulls; it does not train a pet and does not stop a determined puller.
Car travel
Seat covers, hammocks, beds and ramps are for keeping the car clean or helping a pet in and out. They do not restrain a pet in a crash. Unless a product page says it was crash-tested by an independent party, do not rely on it as a restraint. An unrestrained pet can be seriously hurt in a collision or hard stop and can injure people in the car. Use a separately purchased, independently crash-tested harness or carrier. Never put a bed on a seat with an active airbag, and never leave a pet in a parked car; heat stress can kill within minutes.
Ramps, stairs and beds
Stay within the stated weight and size limit, put the product on a firm, non-slip surface, secure it, and supervise until your pet is confident. Introduce slowly. Do not use for a pet that is injured or struggling without asking your vet. Beds and loungers are not for pets that chew or swallow fabric or foam.
Feeders, fountains and electrical products
Keep cords out of chewing reach, unplug before cleaning, never immerse the electric parts, and use only the supplied adapter. Clean fountains and feeders regularly as the maker directs, because standing water and food grow bacteria. Do not rely on an automatic feeder or fountain as the only source of food or water for a pet, and check on your pet and the device daily. Batteries and small electronics are hazards if swallowed.
Cameras and recording
If you use a camera with audio, you are responsible for lawful use. Many places, including California, require the consent of everyone recorded in a private conversation. Tell visitors, sitters and household members that a camera is in use.
Animals and children
Products are for the kind and size of animal stated on the page. They are not toys for children, and children should not be left to use them alone.
If something goes wrong
If a pet or person was hurt, stop using the product, get veterinary or medical care, and then email info@apexflowlabs.com with your order number and photos. We will arrange a refund or replacement. You can also report to SaferProducts.gov.
